The Hummer EV and the Rivian R1T offer double-digit ground clearance and off-road-ready drivetrains, but the Hummer ups the game with significantly greater approach and departure angles. It also features standard 4-wheel Steer with CrabWalk™ for diagonal movement in tight spots and King Crab mode that allows you to “swing” the rear of the truck around obstacles. When the trail gets rough, Extract Mode raises the Hummer EV by six inches, making it easier to clear rocks or cross streams.

Without any of these features, the Rivian R1T may be better suited for light off-roading only.

Your vehicle makes a statement—what do you want it to say? The Hummer EV pickup shouts strength and all-terrain dominance, with an aggressive grille that signals it’s built to conquer road and trail. The Rivian R1T, by contrast, opts for a sleek, compact, and minimalist design. Stylish, yes, but it doesn’t project the same “go-anywhere” confidence that defines the Hummer EV.

Even their paint palettes reflect their personalities. The Rivian R1T sticks to a muted, mostly grayscale selection of five standard colors. The Hummer EV, while offering similar classics, adds bolder options to its 8-shade lineup—like Solar Orange, Deep Aurora (Dark Bronze), Autumn Matte (Copper), or Graphite Blue—giving you the choice to go loud and proud.

Each cabin offers plenty of space for passengers and gear alike, and the GMC Hummer EV pickup and the Rivian R1T deliver interior comfort and convenience, but the Hummer EV is designed to put you squarely in the lap of luxury.

The Rivian R1T does feature a panoramic glass roof that fills the cabin with natural light. However, only the Hummer EV pickup offers the available Infinity Roof with class-exclusive removable modular Sky Panels and a detachable front I-Bar for a true open-air experience.

The GMC Hummer EV pickup and the Rivian R1T come well-equipped with a driver-focused cockpit and a cinematic Driver Information Center to keep you informed.
