The Ram 1500 offers three capable engines, each designed to deliver solid performance. The GMC Sierra 1500 goes even further with four total engines: the TurboMax™, 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, and the 3.0L Duramax® Turbo Diesel. With the Sierra 1500 being the only one of the two to offer a diesel option, it delivers a level of versatility the Ram just can’t match.

The GMC Sierra 1500 matches that with its own 8-speed automatic featuring overdrive and Tow/Haul mode. But it doesn’t stop there. The GMC also offers an available 10-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control for added capability. Paired with Electronic Precision Shift, it gives you the control and confidence to tow with ease, no matter where you’re headed.

The Ram 1500 offers an impressive 11,610-pound towing capacity, but the GMC Sierra 1500 takes it even further. When properly equipped, the GMC can tow 13,300 pounds, letting you bring more gear along for the ride.
